This painting is inspired by a scene that is often observed in the north west and specifically at halfway creek between Madsen and Red Lake, Ontario at sunrise or sunset. Moose (Mooz in Ojibwe) are found in rivers or swamps feeding at this time of day — having breakfast or a late dinner, and often looking super majestic. ;)
